Álvaro Pérez (1983) is a multidisciplinary designer with a background in design, animation, and engineering, and a broad trajectory in photography and audiovisual production. His career has been shaped by time in Barcelona, Madrid, Norway, and Iceland, and includes projects as varied as a documentary for BBC Reels, educational animations for Nature magazine, and live concert photography at festivals like Iceland Airwaves and Sónar Reykjavík.

GEMGAS, Geo-Electrical Monitoring of H2S GAS, is a geophysical research project taking place in a geothermal site in South Iceland. The website is a platform to share ideas and results regarding mapping minerals and monitoring H2S injection with geophysics. GEMGAS stands for Geo-Electrical Monitoring of H2S GAS sequestration; the ambition of GEMGAS research is to test and develop a range of geophysical methods that can be applied to the monitoring of underground gas mineralization.
